I really miss conversing with him on here. Of many of the posts and opinions I've thoroughly enjoyed reading, most of them were from him. I actually came across this post of his a little while ago, and for someone as young as I am, on the verge of going out into the world alone for the first time as an adult, this was probably one of the most inspiring things I've read (it was JHarper's response to one of the far-left socialist posters accusing him of "stealing from the poor" because of his conservative stance):
Obama takes from people who work. He gives it to somebody else he likes better......that makes him a common thief in my book no matter how you paint his picture....I work for my money...I have never received anything from the government but a hard time and demands from dependents of the government. I am accused by people like you because I went to school longer, studied harder...it took me seven years working two jobs to finish school at night. Then I took ten years to pay back the government loans. When I went to work I worked well over fifty hours a week for years. Now you think I owe something to folks who did not prepare...did not go to school, did not work a seady job, did not pay dues, did not work up in a company...All the while, I worked in and for the United Way, Boy Scouts, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, The 1996 Olympic effort, I raised and educated three great children with a lots of help from my wife of 43 years.....In my spare time, I worked five years for a political action committee, umpired baseball, wrote papers on subjects of interest for two senator's, worked in several election campaigns, worked on church projects and on many Habitat houses. I have fed the hungry...first hand. I have contributed a significant amount of my income for numerous public good projects....And
One thing I do not need is you or Obama telling me I haven't done enough. Revolutions have been caused by less. JHarper
JHarper, if you ever come across this, I wish you a good life and good health.
