I love atheists, Catholics, and Buddhists, and anyone else who can find peace within themselves, without hurting anyone.

Good day/evening, everyone!
As some of you may know, the third week of March was the 50th anniversary of the Dalai Lama's exile from his native Tibet by the Chinese army. Since then, he has devoted his life to non-violent resistance against an oppressive regime, as well as promoting peace and unity throughout the world.
As well, a lesser known fact about the issue of Tibet (as far as I know) is the current state of the 11th Panchen Lama. The Panchen Lama is the second highest authority in Tibetan Buddhism. The 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima (the officially elected lama by the people of Tibet) was kidnapped, along with his family, in 1995 by the Chinese, and relocated to an undisclosed location within the People's Republic of China. He was then replaced by another Panchen Lama (Qoigyijabu), who was selected by the communist government. The current state of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is unknown. If he is still alive, he is currently 19 years old (the same age as me).
The last thing I want to mention is that last year, over 1200 Tibetans were detained by Chinese armed forces for protesting against the ruling communist regime. The status of many of these political prisoners is unknown.
If you too are concerned over the appauling treatment of Tibet by the Chinese government, I urge you to take a look at this petition, and sign it, if you feel compelled to:

Hey photo, I've been bloody busy with year-end exams and work. I agree with your statement that protecting innocence is a form of censorship. Hey photo, I've been bloody busy with year-end exams and work. I agree with your statement that protecting innocence is a form of censorship. To me, innocence is more of a symbolic stage of our childhood that we tend to remember as a utopian golden age, right before we realise how shitty people can be. It's main use is to serve as a reminder that better days lay ahead if we can build from our mistakes, building a new world of love, equality, and peace, laying it all down one stone at a time (we're still a little while away.... a bunch of protests over the Israeli-Gaza conflict near my home in Toronto and all across the world are minor indications of that).
But when I think of innocence = censorship, I'm reminded instantly of South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, where Sheila ends up waging war against Canada in order to protect American children from Terrence and Philip's "naughty language" haha. But it's true: reality can be a bit depressing at times, but with the right mindset and attitude, you can pursue knowledge, increase your understanding, and find peace of mind within your place in the universe; your role is small, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful or important than the other functions of nature.

LSD! there ya are! how ya been? anyway.... innocence can never be regained so long as you believe that it is equated to knowledge.... however, even knowledge can be lost in some ways.... regardless.... protecting one's innocence is just another form of censorship if you really think about it. reality sucks, but decisions can be made so much easier when the person making those decisions is functioning

We can never mend innocence once it is gone. There is plenty of guilt to go around, but that must not be our focus. Our focus must be on the present, mending our fences, uniting and creating a better, more peaceful and prosperous future for the next of our kin to inherit.

Aye, I set this group up back before I got an account because most of the posts I saw were: "I hate this.." and "Atheism is false because....", so I figured: This forum needs a place of refuge: where people can share their ideas and stories for the benefit of all, while at the same time, respecting our diversity as humans and as idealists, humble in our conviction.

To the "I value harmonius existence as well" guy, I understand what you're trying to say, but look at it: Right now, it seems that Jesus, Allah, and other primoridial dieties are asking all of us to believe in one of them, and truth be told: it's getting a bit ridiculous. It has been for a long time.
The greatest heaven we can ever know is the one we make for ourselves here in this life, and if you think that it is just a "way of pleasure", then I don't think you've ever lived in a wartorn nation before. Our freedom is more

The greatest heaven we can ever know is the one we make for ourselves here in this life, and if you think that it is just a "way of pleasure", then I don't think you've ever lived in a wartorn nation before. Our freedom is more important than your faith. We need to sort out our lives here on Earth before we can sort out our afterlives, and that is why there is mo much religious turmoil. This thread is a place of peace, not a place of conversion, so if you've come expecting to frighten us into your ideology of no-salvation-after-death-for-the-non-believers simply because we accept all faiths, then kindly leave. There is your response.
Peace and blessings.

I value harmonious coexistence as well. But does the truth of religious claims matter, or only the peaceful coexistence of those who affirm those claims? What is peace if you, or if I, end up without salvation? I think that that salvation, which requires that we discover and commit ourselves to the truth, is more important than mere collective peace. Peace is really just a way pleasure in this

Peace is really just a way pleasure in this world. Have you though about you need for peace with your creator through his Son Jesus? He is making a demand on you--and saying, "live peacefully Jesus" will not suffice as a response...

On this dark day of rememberance of the tragedy of 2001, there is a symbol of hope that has emerged. This morning in Afghanistan, archaeologists unearthed a 19 meter long "sleeping Buddha" statue, a survivor from the Taliban bombings of the Buddhas of Bamiyan.
These Buddha statues in Afghanstian represented a synthesis of peace, mutual yearning for solidarity, and love between the East and the West. Though the other Buddhas were destroyed by the Taliban, in the name of eradicating religious depictions, the Taliban could not undo them all. This is a sign: an echo from the past that will not be silenced. We are a new generation. We can build upon the peace of the past and create a Paradise on earth for all living beings, not one excluded, if we put aside our differences, be curious of the world outside of our beliefs, and learn to love unconiditionally.
Peace and Blessings upon us all.

In a world where people bear arms, I shall open my arms to embrace those who need love the most. I love you all. May you all find happiness and peace within yourselves, and within others.
"People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you hear it? Love is in the air.
We're in a revolution. Don't you know we're right.

Everyone is singing. Yeah! There'll be no one to fight."

I am glad to hear that; the only difference between us and these others i that they are not embracing Christ's love for them, since Christ longs for all to come to him.

I oft hear others talk of ill-will and hatred in the world, especially in religion, which many see as the spiritual thread that binds out cutures together.
I prefer to think of hate not as a solid concept, but rather, an absence of love: a cold void. May all who enter this place of discussion find solace and fill their voids with love and serenity. My blessings upon you all.

HERE YE! HERE YE! WELL STATED! Faith should be an internal venture/journey; doing no harm to others. Unfortunately, that is a limited few in most religions and faiths.
